Germany Pushing for a European Army

I have no opinion on this as of yet. What do you the readers think?

Update:
So I have taken the time to think about it and read up on the subject. Germany is pushing for an European Army under the control of the European Union Parliament and headquartered in Berlin. They have taken steps towards their goal by assimilating the Dutch 11th Air Mobile brigade into the German Army. The Germans are now looking to do the same with the Dutch 43rd Mechanized brigade. The Germans have also expressed an interest in doing the same thing with the Austria and Polish armies. They also want to create a military industry independent of US, and one combined and universally trained officer corps.
If the Germans can make this work I think it will be a good thing for Europe. However a few things stand in their way. First Britain, this measure could be the thing that would finally cause them to leave EU. Britain has a long a proud military tradition. They would not give that up to the EU and their current dislike for EU immigration laws are already driving them away. To be honest I don't think France would like it too much either.
In summary: Good idea but will probably end in the destruction of the EU if it is tried.
